Kate Morgan Reade: In 1932, "Prosperity is around the corner," and we were looking for a leader who would stop the panic bank-rushes and push employment.

Then came a voice that swept the nation: FDR -- Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

A reassuring, gentle, humorous voice that attracted all who listened.

A man, unbeknownst to his vast crowd of supporters, who had suffered polio.

We need the charismatic candidate who attracts the nation to herself or himself.

The spectacle of ICE cruelty, outright cruelty, sickens the heart.

I agree 100%. It feels like a battle of attrition for hearts and minds who have not drunk the KoolAid. Funny how kids don't know about Jim Jones and the cyanide. The vote in the House made me sick. Heart and soul. I suppose, in addition to everything else each of us can do, that the delay until the midterms might change more minds and the cruelty and destruction might wake up more people. Counting down to that vote...
