I'm going with "The circular file is going around the drain." The story of my life in higher education administration.
The mind boggles at the forest of dead trees wasted on humans' perceptions of what is important.

Very good misiphors/risiphors.
We must be able to do something with the "hypotenuse of the triangle."
Something like --
"The whirlpool swirled the ship down the hypotenuse of the Bermuda Triangle . . ."
And, variations upon the same!
Hear, hear! Love the use of hypotenuse with Bermuda Triangle! Very good! Also, I adore "misiphor"! It is now firmly ensconced in my lexicon! Bravo, Armand!
