Good Monday to you! This week is a special collaborative post with Sue Clancy, who I met here on Substack. In appreciating each other’s work, as we were getting to know each other, I read her words above.
I thought, “This would be a stellar Monday Quote!” and so the idea came about to ask her permission to use her inspiring words. Since I always pair an image with the Monday Quote, I asked if she would also consider creating artwork to go along with her words. What you see above is the cheerful result!
For me, great quotes jump off the page, or are acoustically highlighted as I hear them spoken. My inner creative voice says “that’s it!”
I have quotes and excerpts written on bits and scraps of paper, sections in several notebooks, the Notes part of my phone, random sticky notes in my wallet or stuffed into my pockets (that come out of the dryer rather the worse for washing).
It’s the same with visual images: it is never an intellectual but a visceral response when I go through dozens—sometimes hundreds—of images, until I come upon exactly the right one to convey the tone or mood I want for my posts.
Enjoy the fruits of a Substack friendship formed out of appreciation, inspiration, and joy!
